Leadership readiness training – we will guide you to use your personality and your attributes to shape the way you lead. You will be able to self-assess and identify your areas for development.
Vision-building and goal setting support – we will support you to identify your vision and set goals to achieve them.
Work experience – we will give you a financial bursary and help you find work experience for your field of interest.
Mentoring – we will help you find someone that will act as a mentor and provide 1:1 coaching sessions in building confidence and business planning
Fundraising and financial oversight training – you will learn how to raise money for your ideas

What is the Groundbreakers?Groundbreakers is a leadership programme founded in March 2020 for people aged 16-30. It aims to empower and grow the leadership potential for young people through a specially curated programme. It offers micro-investment, learning and collaboration opportunities, mentoring, events and work experience opportunities.

Who founded Groundbreakers?Groundbreakers was initially founded by John Akinde alongside Studio 3 Arts, a non-profit organisation as part of a wider partnership with Barking & Dagenham Council funded through the Young Londoners Fund. The programme is now being solely led by Ideate.

What is the goal of Groundbreakers Programme?The goal of the Groundbreakers programme is to grow leaders and develop young people who are equipped to contribute to the social, economic, and cultural wellbeing of their communities. Through a combination of micro-investment, learning and collaboration opportunities, mentoring, events, and activities over a 6-month period, participants will develop skills and knowledge that will help them to become agents of positive change in their communities. By fostering leadership and empowering young people, we aim to create a ripple effect of positive impact that will benefit society as a whole.

Who is eligible to participate in Groundbreakers?Young people aged 16-30 who are passionate about leadership, entrepreneurship, and social impact are eligible to apply for Groundbreakers.

What kind of learning opportunities are available through Groundbreakers?Groundbreakers offers a diverse range of learning opportunities that go beyond traditional classroom-style teaching. In addition to workshops, seminars, and online courses, participants also have access to mentorship from experienced professionals, as well as opportunities for work experience. Our learning programme covers a wide range of topics including leadership, entrepreneurship, community building, marketing, fundraising and more. our essential is equipping young people with the skills and knowledge they need to make a positive impact in their communities.

Is there a cost to participate in Groundbreakers?No, there is no cost to participate in Groundbreakers. The programme is fully funded by our organization.

What does the micro-investment opportunity entail?The micro-investment opportunity is designed to help participants turn their ideas into action. Successful applicants that show a feasible plan for their project or business will receive a small amount of funding to help them get started on their project or business idea.

What happens after the 6-month programme ends?After the programme ends, participants are encouraged to stay involved with our organisaiton and to continue their leadership journey. We offer ongoing learning opportunities and alumni events to help support participants in their future endeavours.
